Leadership

Vela Ministries is led by a Director who oversees the vision, strategy, and day-to-day operations of the organisation. Leadership responsibilities include:

Program design and delivery
Partner relationships in Australia and Vanuatu
Safeguarding and risk management
Compliance with Australian not-for-profit regulations
Financial oversight and accountability

Board & Governance

Vela Ministries is governed by a Board that provides oversight, accountability, and strategic guidance. The Board exists to ensure the organisation operates in accordance with its constitution, charitable purpose, and legal obligations.

The Board is responsible for:

Governance and compliance oversight
Financial accountability
Strategic direction and sustainability
Risk management and safeguarding oversight
Supporting the long-term mission of the organisation

The safety and wellbeing of all participants — particularly children and young people — is a priority for Vela Ministries.
